End-of-job machine inspection

Catch fire, transport, maintenance, and damage issues before leaving.

20%
Operator inspecting mulcher teeth and tracks before loadout.
Closeout inspection protects transport, tomorrow’s production, and the crew.
Field scenario: The last pass is done and the crew wants to load immediately before traffic gets bad.
Why this matters

End inspection prevents transport problems, fires, and surprise downtime for the next operator.

Pass standard

The machine can be transported safely and the next operator knows about any issue.

What to do
  • Inspect teeth, hoses, tracks, leaks, guards, debris buildup, hot material, and visible damage before transport.
  • Remove packed mulch/leaves from hot areas before loading or highway travel.
  • If there is a leak, damage concern, fire risk, or unsecured attachment issue, resolve it before the truck leaves.
  • Log machine issues so maintenance is not discovered by the next operator at 7am.

Common mistakes
  • Loading with hot debris packed around components.
  • Not checking attachment securement points.
  • Leaving maintenance issues undocumented.
Document in Jobber
  • Damage or maintenance photos.
  • Leak/teeth/track notes.
  • Transport concern if any.
Field standard: The job is not over until the machine can safely leave and work tomorrow.
